About The Project
Canadians are losing life savings to investment schemes that begin in overseas fraud factories. Victims are urged to sign up by fake ads on social media that use AI to generate convincing news reports and celebrity endorsements. The scammers pose as financial advisors, confident in their ability to evade arrest as they rake in tens of thousands of dollars a month.
Goals / Achievements
Produced for CBC News, and broadcasted on The National. About 680,000 in total watch on TV, and another 320,000 watch on CBC’s digital platforms and on YouTube.
